GSC Event: "Conquering College"
More information will be available next semester. Check back then to learn more.
Where should I look for internships? What classes should I be taking? How do I get involved on campus?
This is your opportunity to ask all these questions and more! Conquering College is a program focused on connecting first year Gemstone students with successful Gemstone juniors and seniors who can offer advice about how to get through college and make the most of it.
Date: Saturday, March 7th, 2009
Time: 10:45 am to 3:15 pm
Location: Cambridge Community Center
There will be workshops on:
- Leadership
- Academics
- Grad schools
- Standardized testing
- Interviewing and networking
- Getting that dream internship
- Having fun in college/getting to know DC
- Resume workshop
All the sections will be segmented depending on your major and we have a wide
variety of panelists who will speak to you. This is a great opportunity to meet
people who have connections on campus, know of professors who need students
to research, can find you on or off-campus jobs, etc. Absolutely all questions will
be answered! Please remember to bring a current resume, if you have one, to
participate in the Resume Workshop!
Sponsored by the Gemstone Student Council, talk to your representatives for more details (or any of us). Extra credit will be offered in GEMS102, an extra 5 points (or 1%).
