Gemstone Leadership Opportunities
GEMS 100
The Section Leader position is a unique leadership experience. GEMS100 Section Leaders instruct a weekly 90 minute class that orients new Gemstone students to the Program and the University.
GEMS 102
GEMS102 assists new students in brainstorming research ideas and offers students the opportunity to form teams.
GEMS 104
GEMS104 Section Leaders facilitate discussions and help small groups of freshmen with their semester-long research projects.
GEMS 202
GEMS202 Section Leaders serve as peer mentors for brand new Gemstone teams as they develop a draft of their thesis proposal.
All Section Leader positions involve a training program and regular staff meetings. Section Leaders are compensated by either payment or academic credit and are supervised by Gemstone staff members.
